My sister bought me a Phillips DVD recorder last Christmas and the thing is still not hooked up!

I have a cable box like Tivo and I can't figure out the propper connections to save my life.

I have it hooked up and it will play DVD's and even show that it is successfully recording TV sows, however when the I try and play the DVD-R it is blank.

Is there a good guide or suggestion you know of?

    Thanks!

do u an aerial cable plugged in and tv channels tuned and stored?
aerial to cablebox input, out to dvd input, out to tv.
scart from tivo tv to tv, scart from tivo vcr to dvd.
check compatible dvd + or -
    hope this works

I'm not sure I unsterstand completely:

Ok, what is an aerial cable and where can I get it?

All I have are the RCA cables that came with it.

The way it hooks up is quite easy and I can play DVD's on it. Everything works besides the recorder itself!

I'll try to follow your instructions but they're a bit sketchy. Is there a simple DVD recorder to Cable box guide you know of?

Thank you for the time to answer anyways!
