How do you make a *backup* of your GC games without LAN.

Ok guys so here it goes.
I ordered the VIPER GC yesterday and it will ship in two days.Soldering,installing and flashing the chip isn't a problem.Making *backups* of my GC games is! Yeah I know it has to be somewhere on the forum but I can't just search 250 pages and it would be great so that everyone that wants to do the same will find his info here.

So I heard that there is a trick with the Lan adapter and a game's browser in order to make an ISO on your pc... but I am wondering if there's another way. I have a LG DL burner ( 3 months old) and getting MINI DVD-R isn't a problem these days. Yeah yeah I'm a noob I know. But when I put Super Smash orginal game in the LG DVD-ROM . It doesnt recognize it.SO HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO MAKE A *BACKUP*?
Can you tell me what software do u use? Or how do u guys do it?

There is no public solution to backing up GC games with only PC... some guy was able to do that, it was on Maxconsole forums, but i cant find it now...
