how do you play cso?

i've installed the fw2.xx from the dev hook ultimate installer and when i go to that part it says the game can not be started. and i have installed FW 2.71 with the dev-hook .45, the other option on the screen is the 2.61 version and so would that work as well or would i have to downgrade to 1.5....oh and if it makes a difference i have the 2.80 version of my psp, well anyways id apperciate it if you could help

 

use umdgen 3.5 to compress file into .dax then compress the game into .cso this will make the game even smaller but you will have to put the cpu clock to 333mhz. her is a link below to get umdgen

If you have fw 2.8 there's nothing you can do.You need 1.5,and only 2.7 fw down can be downgraded.

 

hey pplz just after sum info i noe that ISO files can be compressed into CSO and DAX formats, does it have any effect on the game or is it coz its more common to find iso files on the net (bittorrent,bitloard,etc). I managed to compress def jam fight 4 NY from 1.5GB too 500MB and im considering converting all my ISO files is their a disadvantage and Also does Devhook support dax formats.

 

There are some games that lag when you compress them(eg:gta:lcs,syphon filter).

Yes devhook supports dax,there's a new plugin at psp-hacks.com,search for it.

If anybody needs help running homebrew on fw 2.71 TA-082 model PSP i can help.
Here are the basics if you already have the programs
to play homebrew: run HEN C
then run devhook .45 (selecting fw1.5) then click start
next go to the emulator you want to play in PSP/GAMES and there you go!
to play ISO/CSO files: put your ISO/CSO file into a folder called ISO in the root of your memory stick
run HEN C
then run devhook .45 (selecting fw2.71) where it says UMD select, go into that and then select the ISO you which to play, then click start on the menu.
wallah, you can now play any game you want!

NOTE: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF YOUR PSP BRICKING IF YOU USE THIS ON A TA-082 2.71 PSP!

Do not use devhook .45 sorry, use devhook .46, it works better. to get this just download devhook ultimate installer, i think there is a link in the first couple of posts in this thread!

 

i recently borrowed my friends psp and he had some problems with it so i said i would take a look at it, he said that he upgraded it to 2.71 and now it will turn on for 10 seconds and then shut itself off, ive changed the battery and charged it and tried some other things and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions , if any one could help i would be most greatful

turn on for 10 seconds? does it get past the sont logo screen? does it get into the XMB?

 

the sony itself turns on but doesnt display anything on the screen what so ever but a black screen and im thinking now that he lied and it is bricked

yea the sony turns on but the screen is black and i thought that mybe i would try something with the hard drive but i decided to not make it any worse before asking for advice

unsure really because its borrowed and i was told nothing was installed into it and or was never tried to downgrade and it was like that after upgrading to 2.7

well i did and im going to buy it off him for 40 and sell the screen for the same to someone else and get a battery and socom out of the deal so thanks for the help anyways.

 

After reading all these posts, I was wondering.... can I get games on a PSP with 3.01 fw? If so (I doubt I can) what are some sites? Man, I wish I would have never upgraded fw!

 

Hey there guys, Im new to the forums and found some useful information but had a query of my own I wanted to share. I got a 4gb san disk memory stick and a psp which was downgraded by a friend of mine who has the know how. Im currently running some weird 3.03EBa somethin somethin firmware and yet it still asks me to update to 1.50 IF I wish. I dont have to use Devhook or anything like that to boot games cos its all apart of this weird firmware thingy I dont know too much about.

My problem is when I try putting an ISO or CSO onto my memory stick via USB, My computer will show the file transferring but during the transfer at any moment it'll say "file could not be transferred, please specify file path blah blah" even though my PSP is still connected and what not. Then when I check in my memory stick the game I wanted to put on is there but when I boot it up it wont load past a certain point. At first I thought it was just a bad file I'd gotten hold of but it happened with both version of Sega Mega drive collection that I downloaded. So I then tried taking off one of the games my friend had already put on my memory stick when he done the whole downgrade thing, took it off and put it back on the stick but these games worked fine. Im confused to why any game I try to put on wont work. Ive only had luck with Loco Roco which was a ISO not CSO but Im sure that shouldnt affect it.

Any help is really appreciated
