i 1000s of music files and want to sort them into my own music libary.
Is there a way to tag/rename many at the same time.
I mean for example i have 1000 tracks by Bruce Springsteen and all have the song title but none have his the artist name is there a way to retag a group togeather includeing artist year album genre but not track song title as that is correct, they are mp3 tracks so any advice or directing me to a thread with this in would be great

    Yes

We have not had this question in a few months so here goes...

A tag editor like mp3tag may be what you want. It is free. That and other tag editors will allow you to effect changes for targeted tags. You can sort the info so that the bad ones are together. You then group highlight. I normally re do ALL the artist's name good or not. This way you know they are all identical vs look identical to you.

There is an audio manager Media Monkey that does some whacky things with tag info that it does better than the rest. It does the best jog getting tag info from file names and has scripts to do just about anything.
