How do you scan a document and convert it to .doc or .pdf?

    tried using MS Document Imaging but the resulting doc file is not formatted as the document that was scanned.

    tried printing to pdf but the resulting document is just a picture with no selectable text

    any better way to do this?

    Would pdf printer be any good not sure if it's in the software section or not it's free,can't say if it's any good i have it installed just never used it at this pioit

    You need OCR enabled. Its not always 100 percent though.

    Have some special format conversion softwares in the internet, which can quickly convert doc. into pdf or other formats

    I use docupub(dot)com to convert jpg files to pdf format.

    This guy is on the right track, however you will need a very good scanner for great results, and for best outcome I suggest using scan tray rather than the glass bed if you have the option available.
