PC recognizes a previously played DVD/CD etc. How do I delete all the traces of a DVD/CD or a program software previously installed from my PC so next time when I insert it PC should not know that it was previously played/ installed etc.

    Hi -

There is a software tool called MRU-Blaster used to scan for and clean MRU lists in the registry. It is by Javacool Software. Run a search to find it and download.

If this does not fit your needs you may need to find a good registry cleaner for your system. You could also try manually running Regedit on your system. Be extremely careful if you try manual editting! This can make a BIG mess if you make an error. It would involve you looking for specific registry entries as related to the program or software that you want to remove and deleting them. Could be many and can take some time and attention to details. A good cleaner would be better. Usually have to buy one if you are using Win XP.

RegSeeker and Ad-Aware also have an MRU list removal method.
