how does this all work

    can i charge my video ipod by just plugging it into my computer using my usb card even when the battery is not dead...? Because when i do that it doesn't charge even when the battery is about to die...

    Which iPod do you have? Also, is the computer switched on?

    I have a windows 2000 dell desktop and yes the computer was on, but i'm not sure if it fell asleep...

    Hmm, that's a strange one. You could have a faulty cable. I recommend borrowing one to test it and see if it is the problem or not.

    That Happened to me when I first purchased the ipod mini, but it was just a minor cable problem. You Just need to purchase a new cable.

    Just a new iPod USB 2.0 Cable. Go down to your local BestBuy, they'll have it :)
