Some of you that are expert in the media subjects seem to be using a large number of different programs. When I first started doing backups I thought that if you got too many programs on one machine they always caused conflicts. At the present time Windows Media Player, Nero, AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter, Fix VTS, Shrink, Imgburn, and RipIt4Me seem to be compatible on my computer. The only thing I found so far I couldn't have at the same time were Nero and Roxio. (I see that some of you can manage those two on the same computer.) Can you put conflicting programs in different partitions and have no problems? Would love to know how many programs some of you are running and your secrets for success.
I have heard that anydvd and dvdfab don't play nice but the rest of the programs you have should be fine. I would stick with Nero for the burning.
Thank you for you reply. I have plain DVD Decrypter not DVDFab. It works beautifully with AnyDVD. In fact all the programs I have on this computer work fine together. My older computer has DVDXCopy on it. I used it for several years. I would love to try DVDNextCopy. However I'm nervous about adding it to what I already have. A couple of years ago I added programs I was already using to a new Dell Computer. The media software they shipped already installed and what I had were a disaster. I had to dump everything and start over from scratch. Would rather not do that very often. Media Software is fascinating and challenging.
Ya I have ran into conflicts in the past. I have heard only bad things about DVDNextCopy. I like you used dvdxcopy when it first came out and it worked great. Now though you shouldn't need any additional programs other that what you already have.
Know you are correct. Really don't need anything else. It's just that I always want to learn something new. If I wasn't part of the over the hill gang I would go back to school and learn everything about computers. Everything I have learned so far is by trial and error and advice from forums.
