Hello, I'm new to the scene and planning on getting a 360 soon (I'm holding out a lil bit for some good deals). Obviously, my main concern is getting banned by live.

I KNOW that bottom line is no one knows whether they're going to get banned since people have gotten banned for playing backups on live, for playing offline then connecting, etc. And that the best way to protect yourself is ripping your own games on kreons and/or using agbx. (I'm planning on getting my games on usenet so the latter is my only method).

That said, I wanted to get a small sample size of the hackers out there. Can some of you xbox hackers tell me whether you've gotten banned, with details (how long you've been playing, what were you doing, reason you think you got banned). And can those who haven't gotten banned tell how you think you've avoided the hammer this whole time?

I haven't been banned. Been playing backups since August 08. Started with iXtreme 1.41 on my BenQ, now on iXtreme 1.6. Still good.

Thanks, leerage. any others care to comment?

Is there anything about the liteon drives that make backups more easily detectable?

Ive had my flashed xbox for two years now, Ive gone from 1.4 to 1.5 and now 1.6

Still on live! Long as you verify your ISOs through ABGX360 and dont play games online before release then there wont be any problems ;o)

Not heard that about the lite-ons.

My 2 XBOXS have been modded around 5 months, no ban for me. I have a friend who modded his with one of the first versions of iExreme and he's not banned either.

I believe this was before iXtreme was released for Lite-ON drives. People were dumping the DVDkey and drive specific info and flashing it to another drive. Then the drive that was spoofed, wouldn't respond to the hidden Lite-ON commands from Microsoft. I believe iXtreme 1.5 catered for these hidden commands.

been playing backups since november 08 before the new Dashbord was released and still not banned. I flashed my hitachi to 1.4 and then sold it to my friends and still not banned (now on 1.51). I flashed a BenQ for another friend he is still not banned, Flashed a LiteOn and sold in on eBay, i dont know if banned or not and i have a flashed LiteOn for about a month now and still not banned. If you scann the ISO through abgx and everything checks out fine then you are less likley to get banned.
P.S i make all of my friends backups for them =)

Been playing since around September 08.. had a liteon but got it swapped out for a samsung back then..Never no problems with XBOX live. Started off with 1.4 now on 1.6. Just verify your games through ABGX360 and don't play games before they are officially released. Some people say it's safe to play them but why take the chance.

it's all about being smart with what you do, like we have said many times before. Check your backups, and use a kreon drive for the best safety.

I've been playing online since December 2007. I've not been banned yet. I think I've made it through 2 ban waves so far, possibly 3.

The last ban wave was in November 2008, so anyone that bought/modded a 360 after that and says "I've not been banned", well that doesn't really apply as they haven't escaped a ban wave yet. There's a chance that we'll see another ban wave soon after the new dashboard is released in August, although that's only speculation based on the last one coming right after the last dashboard update.

As the Lite-On drive was cracked after the last ban wave took place, there's no way of knowing if it's more/less detectable than any other until the next one hits. I've not seen any information from any source that suggests it is more detectable, but I guess we won't know until MS bring down the hammer of ban. :D

About 10 of us between 7 and 15 months with no bans. And some even played games early while connected to Live. Dumb I know but there ya go.

Interesting. Since MS announced the update would be released on August 11th, does anyone think that people buying new Xboxes should hold off until around after that to avoid a potential ban wave (just to avoid potentially getting a brand new box banned)?

Regarding that last ban wave in Nov 2008, did you guys do anything special to avoid it? Or did you still go on Xbox Live and just followed standard procedure (kreon rips and agbx)?

Let's not start a mass wave of paranoia again. It has been confirmed what Microsoft's intention are for this update. Last time Microsoft announced an update, people freaked out on here thinking it was a ban wave. Can't remember the members name but he started like 10 threads about it though. Let's keep the ban talk to a minimal please. We don't want new members coming in here and only seeing " Microsoft, August 11th, Ban Wave". :)
