I kinda feel a bit embarassed to ask this but about how many times can you rewrite on a DVD+RW before it affects data quality? I'm asking because a member of this site recommended to me that i use disks to solve my problems with transfering files from my desktop to my new laptop. For more detailed info on the whole transfering thing
I posted a question in the "All Other Topics" area of the forum.
Thanks in advance to all who can help.

It depends on the quality of the media, but about 1000 times would be average. An even easier way to transfer files would be setting up a simple home network.

I already attempted to try the networking my desktop and laptop together using a crossover cable, after messing around with it for a while i got it to work I used the network setup wizard and set up a workgroup and I thought since the files transfered I was done and both computers would save the settings. Two days later I go to transfer some more files and the workgroup is still the but on my desktop only the host computer(desktop) is available and the laptop is nowhere to be found!?! And on the laptop neither computers are there, if fact when I go to view workgroup computers it tells me that I do not have permission and to contact the administrator. Any clues as to whats wrong? I also saw office max has a USB to USB file transfer cable does anyone know if this is anygood and would work.
Thanks to those who have helped me already and to those who hopefully will.
