The PNY GeForce 6600GT is a WAY better video card than the 9600XT. Now it also depends on your Processor if you will be able to play the latest games with great graphics. What kind of CPU do you currently own?

If you have a Pentium 4 or a decent AMD then you should be able to play some of the recent games fine, but not all.

Yes the 6600GT only has 128MB, but it is way FASTER memory than the 6600's. The The 6600GT can easily reach memory speeds of over 1Ghz, while the 6600's memory speeds are HALF of that(300-550Mhz). There are also factors like Fill Rate, Bandwidth, etc... All in which the 6600GT outperforms the 6600. The 6600GT is a newer card, so it obviously isn't gonna be worse than the 6600 ;)

The 6600GT is a clearly superior to the 6600 or the 9600XT.

That card will perform averagely with the new games. Games nowadays are getting more & more complex. The 6600GT would be OK, but it is a LONG way off a 7800! You get what you pay for. I would go for an Nvidia chipset, as opposed to an ATi, simply because of driver support.
If you are in the UK, then Overclockers has a far superior range,

PS if you do not wish to annoy the mods & everyone else here, you should not multi-post-

Noticed in your OTHER thread, that you have a budget of £350. I would have thought a 6800 Ultra would do.

I would get the EVGA 7800GT with your kind of budget.

I really dislike ATI's drivers but the X850 would be a very good AGP card for that price range.

That 6800GS is better than the 6600GT.

As for the hard drive question, what is your motherboard manufaturers name and/or the model number?
