Hi, I am getting ready to purchase a DVD Burner. I would like to find out how much of a difference there is between and internal and external burner. I already have a DVD Drive and CD Burner installed. I really don't want to try and install it myself, so I was looking at getting an external one. Any recommendations on an internal and external DVD burner in the mid price range? Thanks, Jim
i would recommend a internal burner like the pioneer 106,i ordered an external burner last week for my laptop and i sent it back after 5 days.the external burners rnt allways compatible with the burning software and you could end up with a useless drive.
I have the Plextor 708UF which is external and I have no problems with it. As a matter of fact, I purchased the internal 708 and it was taking about 90 mins to backup a movie. I switch to the external and was able to make backups in 20 to 40 mins. The last PC Magazine did some reviews on burners. You might check their website out. The Sanman
No mater what the name is when you do purchase a DVD Burner look and get a 4X as most DVDs and some CDs are now being made for that speed or a 2.4X and look at your DVD player to see what speed it is.
is the plextor external burner of good quality?how much did you pay for it?the problem i had with my burner (sony dw-10a External) is when i went to burn my backd up movie after backing up came up with an error. This error was `burn reset`and came up with the dvd name.i was using nero 6 to copy.do you now the problem for this?
