How much strenth do dvd+-r discs put on a V5-V6 PS2?
Ive read that it puts a lot more strenth on the PS2 lens, and Im about to buy the PS2 Flip-Top Cover + Swap Magic 3.0 discs.

So any info would be greatly apreciated.

    Thanks.

I dont think backup games are ment to harm the laser in anyway but i would think playing backups all the time will shorten the life of a ps2 in the long run (theortically)

if it is hard on the laser and the laser dies you can just buy a new one

ok ill try and get some of those brands If i can, better getting good brands so I dont mess my PS2 up.I have at the moment Intenso dvd-r 1x,lol they are really cheap, like 2.30 euros, also have imation dvd+r 1x,but thats only 2.50 euros.

A few things,What speed discs should I get?,for example if I get verbatin discs, what speed discs (think I just said that twice, lol)? are the higher speed discs better quality?

    Thanks in advance!

p.s.What speed do I burn them at,ppl have said lowest,so Ill probaly do that but if the higher speed discs are better quality, even if its verbatin, than id rather get those but still burn it at 1x if you know what I mean.

i wouldn't waste my money on expensive dvd discs since if you wear out the laser it only costs $75 to get a brand new one

i usualy use ritek g04 4x discs which are avalible near my home for less than a £1.00 each and mostly burn these a 2x but for the more graphicly demanding games(eg need 4 speed underground)and games that have a lot of full motion video i usualy burn at 1x as this helps with sound issues and skipping problems
