Games for the PS3 and Xbox 360 will cost $59.99 new, which I saw at Gamestop.com. I actually believe that because of the new media and stuff like that.
Globally speaking, it's more like a "Nintendo/Microsoft VERSUS Sony" Not "Microsoft vs. Sony" *points to usual statistic for Xbox, PS2, & GC: - Xbox sold only 1 million more units than Gamecube - Sony sold over 70 million more units than both of them, respectively
that's off topic and in the wrong forum, buddy. also, that's multiposting 3 times, cite: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/7/245970 http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/259284 read the rules, guy, or you'll get bloodied by a mod to answer your question: for the most part, no, i don't believe so.
ps3 didnt say it was going to be 600! wtf? They are goign to sell it 399$ american, but it costs 494 to make. I say the range would be from 300-450 $ not 600$. more information go to http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/06/28/news_6128295.html
NEW UPDATE---Well according to my research when Sony said they was coming out with the PS3. Sony made an announcement that it will be very high in cost around the 400.00 range. Well when Xbox360 came out it was going for $399.00. Around the same as the PS3! BUT the PS3 when it launches in the spring of 2006 it will have a retail price for only $299.99 Which makes the PS3 more affordable then the Xbox360!! Xbox 360 will ship out its largest inventory around February to March. See how they work. Pretty smart! Actually the Xbox360 only put out a small amount of systems to stores purposely to attract news and people to the new product in turn to sell more (Just look how must news media it has already attracted) due to the fact Xbox is took a 4 billion dollar loss on there last system!
yea i heard that too that the ps3 is going to be $400.00 but it will just be the system. but what i wanna know is with that blue-ray technology how much money will sony lose a system
Where did that price come from? You are just speculating that. Ps3 will not be cheaper than xbox, since it has an expensive processor and bluray drive.
Sony officially hasn't said anything yet only that it will be "expensive" according to Ken Kutaragi. It does more than the XBox 360. MS doesn't have to worry about making it a router, making it connect to a PSP, connect to two HDTVs, running a brand new processor, etc. That's why Sony ripped out the router capability and is making the hard drive not essential for games. It's all to reduce cost. So I'm guessing it costs them about $500-$700 to make and they want to reduce it as much as possible.
I'm sorry if I bring you down razengan (naruto fan huh?), but read the whole article. It was just falsely attributed statements from they guy who interviewed Stringer. This price was only his speculation. So still no proof... Here's the whole thing:
its common sense that the ps3 will be $400 if the xbox360 lowers its and if the ps3 were $600 people would buy the x360
Well they just can't sell ps3 so that they lose 200$-300$ per unit, Sony doesn't have that kind of money. Microsoft has a lot more money, and they are selling xbox 360 losing 126$ per unit.
He's right. Sony's other divisions have't been doing now. A more realistic price is somewhere in the range I mentioned before which is $500-$700. It might reach $800 because of the extra things it can do that they decided they wanted to keep but I don't think so. All the problems that it has with playback of PS and PS2 games, controllers, mem cards etc and the removal of the router capability and necessity of hard drive for games makes me happier. That's because with all this less extras things will be cheaper. At first I was expecting it to be $800 but now I'm guessing $600. It might go down if they really rip out options out of it. Like the dual HDTVs. It's cool but would increase the cost.
lol Do you meen that if tehy sell their systems 400 ea they will loose that much? Do you know how much its ogign to cost to make a ps3? They will loose a tad bit more than the 360. Dude it doesnt cost arround 600 to make!
