70% and lower on Video Quality ratio, I'll simply fire up DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP 2.70, if it's 70% and up I'll use either DVD Shrink or Nero Recode. However, I'm leaning more toward Recode than DVD Shrink.
Since I started using it, I use it for everything that requires compression of any level. I extract the files to my HD so time is not important. I set it and forget it. I love the queue using imgburn as well. Do a batch process in RB and set up a queue in imgburn. I have multiple burners so I preload the blank disc's and let er rip.
i mostly do main movie only via Recode2, once in a while i do the whole disc, only then i use Rebuilder/HC slowest mode.
I use it for any DVD that needs compression. I use the BATCH mode and set up all the DVDs before I go to bed and when I get up the next day they are ready to burn.
I do the same as alkohol but my main encoder for DVD Rebuilder is procoder 2. I do movie only so sometimes I use Clonedvd2 as it will use no transcoder or I just rip the movie to my HDD then use VobBlanker to cut out everything I don't need, then burn.
I also use it for anything that requires compression. I use the batch mode and run it at night while I sleep. Quality is more important to me than speed.
another vote for anything that needs compressed. All my transcoding software is just for looks. They rarely get used. All hail dvd-rb/cce/procoder2. It's even nicer now that I have my core 2 duo E6600 and can do full encodes in under an hour.
I use DVD Rebuilder Pro and CCE basic on any back-up that needs compessing. The other method I like is using VobBlanker to strip all but the menu and movie and if it will fit on a DVD-5 I build and burn the ISO with ImgBurn. For anyone who might be interested I also have all these Programs running in Linux under Wine.
I am still doing a lot of testing on this set-up but so far comparing quality and times done on a Linux and Windows XP dual boot machine look good. The times are very close usually within a few minutes of each other.
I too use it for everything... I tend to go with Procoder 2 if the movie is more than 2 hours... under 2 hours I go with CCE SP 2.50... Without a doubt the best way to backup DVDs....
I use it for all my back ups that need compression. For my back ups I use dvdfab decripter to rip it dvdremake to make it the way I want it and dvd rebuilder with cinema craft encoder to fit it to a dvd-5
