how to adjust the speed of driver?

    my dvd used to record dvd-r at 4x but now he only record dvd-r at 2x....what I have to do to adjust the speed of the driver of dvd?

    Make/model drive? Firmware version?

    Software being used?

    DMA settings for the drive?

    HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4040B Hitachi-LG DVD+RW/DVD-RW/DVD-RAM DVD+RW:4x/2.4x, DVD-RW:4x/2x, DVD-RAM:3x, DVD-ROM:12x, CD:24x/16x/32x

    how can I know the firmaware version?...
    sotware being used is alcohol lastest version
    sorry again but how can I know or discover the dma settings for the drive?..
