Okay my trial of nero 9 and thus my nero burning will need to be purchased. I wanted to only purchase nero burning, but this is not possible correct?

I went to buy through amazon and they gave a terrible rating! Like a rating I have never seen before; 1/5 stars. So did Cnet and their users.

Well if I want to use other suites in Nero 9 for other uses, I don't want a product that sucks so bad. Does previous nero work for burning iso image too for backup copies? If so, which one(s)?

1/5? Are you kidding me? I heard sequels suck, but this bad? Sheeez!

Can you use a normal burner to backup a backup of a game or will you have to go through the process of dumping that as well?

Yes you can just use your normal burner and imgburn to backup your wii backup.
    Then burn it with imgburn.

I want to thank everyone for all the great input here, I started looking for a way to "backup" my games 2 weeks ago, and with all the great step by step instructions I got my wiikey 2, purchased a GDR-8162B, and used RawDump to extract my 1st game. It was all very simple to do, well soldering the modchip to the wii was a little difficult but it was all very doable for a person who has a little bit of soldering experience.

Here is a screenprint of my drive and speed

    Thanks again people.

Hi all, total newbie here. I finally just figured out the nintendo ds and getting games for it, then lo and behold my daughter bought a wii. I've read this thread best as I could and know that I'll have to purchase a burner with the right SN. My question though is on the mod chip. I can't find any information with her SN number it is a LU6XXXX. Is this going to be one with the epoxy? Don't rally feel like breaking out the chipping hammer right away! Any help on which chip to get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all for your help!

Here are the results I can find for your serial number

    http://www.wiidrives.com/identify?serial=LU63854572

I think your missing a number yet at the end. I have 11 numbers in mine.

Find your last number, then go back to that site and enter your full serial in.

Not all the GC2-D2E have epoxy on them. I don't know how many don't have it on them. Really won't know until you open it up.

thanks for the quick reply smokey, and yes I was missing the last number, a zero....didn't see it in a box by itself...duh. Anyway one night when the daughter goes to bed I'll have to bust that thing open and see what's in there. When I do I can guarantee you I'll be back asking questions!

Use a screw driver, trust me, there is less questions in the morning... "What happened to the DVD player?" "... ahhh... you know that darn dog of yours..."
Im sure we all have had that situation happen... no?

    Hi All,

I've done the softmod with the twilight hack and i have the homebrew channel. What I don't get is how to play backed up wii games. I burnt a wii iso of mario kart using wiijunkies, but obviously the wii doesnt recognize the disc and I need to run it from within homebrew (right?). If that's the case, what can I use to run the disc? I tried GeckoOs but it didnt recognize the disc either.
FYI, I'm running 3.4 on my wii.

I hope I didn't miss any glaringly obvious steps...Thanks for any input!
