Teamgatch; give us a little info on your PC. Also, did you install the Net file that is listed on page 1?
If anyone's interested in modding the wii, I can do it for $100 and the chip will cost $20. Contact me at cy1126@myuw.net. I'm located in Albany, NY. The name of the chip is Wiifree, but you may provide your own
dumping stopped 3 times but image was good. silly me i burnt the image on a dual layer disc . burnt he next on a single disk but tried it on a console with dead controller(ha..ha. lol)it actually worked thans bunny c. the image is exactly4.37 gb but when checking actual disc it reads zero on properties

Thanx for the tutorial. If followed, there should be no problems. I'm using a Wiikey Installed external inside DB9 serial LG 8164B LG dual layer burner. Retail Plus+ DVD-R Burning @ 2x What works: (all backups ;-) ) NTSC Wii sports Wii Play Wariowares smooth moves Cars Zelda Tony Hawks Downhill Jam Can't seem to get sonic and robinsons to work. Both are PAL
I don't think you can findout what size the disc is after it has been burnt, i don't think you can even tell with the original wii disc. The standalone drive will not see the disc. It is the software(Raw dump 2.0) that sees the disc. It is because of the way the disc has been burnt/encoded (obviously to slow down pirating). As for your problem, you haven't state many details. My suggestion would be to double check the size of your ISO dump file. Compare these to the file sizes on the very first post of this forum. The stated sizes are exactly what your ISO dump file should be. Have you had back-up discs work in your Wii since you've installed the Wii Key?
Teamgatch, your PC is plenty strong. The DL disc may have been the issue. Everyone: 1-Be sure you are using one of the LG drives listd on page #1 (some of the newer drives may have another letter at the end of the model number, mine did when I bought it). 2-I am personally using Taiyo Yuden DVD-R, because they were highly recommended for PS2 backups. I tried it for the Wii and they work great. Other brands may be hit or miss. Others can post what they use, but I think (my own opinion) that DVD-R are to be used, not DVD+R. 3-Slow down your burn speed to 2 or 2.4 4-Slow down your burn speed to 2 or 2.4
http://www.wiikey.com.cn/ - Official Wii Key Website According to the official website of the Wii Key modchip, it is compatible with DVD-RW's. Personally myself, I don't like using re-writable media, they seem to be very dodgy.
cp1966 i didnt think it was the setup ..pc is strong alright but dumping still stops at least 3 times per images. i had to stay and watch it. after 18hours non stop and 3hrs sleep early his morning these was the result. again thanks to bunny c for the tutorial win xp pro amd 64bit serice pack 2 net framework2 loaded using rawdump2 prince of persia ...need for speed carbon...wii play....wii sport...gt pro....ssx...red steel..wing island....rampage....sonic..tournament fishing...downhill jam...excite truck.....still goin...bummer...i could do alot more but work gets in the way....all images are OK OK OK .all images are burnt on lg dvd-r,princo-r, tdk -r and sony -r @2x @4x @10 @12 speed NERO 7ultra was used to burn all images...the resulting backup dvds were then put thru another pc. now its time to backup THE backup...i used alcohol 120, nero 7,clone cd and roxio easy cd..tried burning @2 up to @16speed ALL GOOD. cp1966- rawdump still stopping..is there a fix to this!!
Good question. I was curious so i just did a copy of zelda on a Fujifilm DVD+RW. Worked great. RW'S are good to use to make sure the image burns correctly (less coasters lol). If it does, just reburn on a writable.
I dont know if this wil help but i think ur pretty desperate..try dumping in safe mode tahst teh only way it works for me
Hi all. Although I have the correct drives, I have the same problem as SquallSG. Anyone knows how to solve this?
I have had no luck finding any of the LG DVD DVD-Rom drives locally (* LG-8164b,LG-8163b, LG-8162b,LG-8161b) that are used for dumping the wii games. Will the LG DVD writer GSAH42N be able to read the original wii disks- as these I can find locally?
Sorry saint3399 but that model wont work, and these 4 LG drives aren't sold in stores... Goto http://Newegg.com/ and you can purchase the 8164B DVD-ROM drive for $17.99 (US only). BB=Beige and BK=Black so the model# @ newegg.com is 8164BB, hope this helps...
