how to blurr text on video footage?

hi,

is there a easy way of blurring text on video footage?
Its on a old bootleg dvdr that I have.
I know how to rip it to HDD but not the actually blurring process.
Any suggestions?

 

the virtualdub filter logoaway can do this.

 

I'm not sure how to do it on vob's, but if it's in xvid format I use avidemux. I use the mplayer delogo filter, I use it mainly to blur out hardcoded subtitiles.

 

its on a bootleg standard dvdr.
I dont wanna convert to avi due to loss in quality

Use DGindex to create a project, create a script incorporating
the logo mask and DGdecode, which is used to serve the frames.

When your script is prepared, you can open it in an mpeg encoder
(HCenc perhaps) and create a new DVD mpeg2 file. Then you'll
