How to Build a USB Nand Reader for a JTAGed Xbox 360

    Is there any way to read the NAND to get the HDD function back without soldering to the board on the xbox? I'm not one for soldering.

    No, you must solder and read the NAND.

    I can live without it for now, dont know anyone in my area to do it for me and I dont want to pay to ship it to someone.

    Yeah, I've been considering making a solderless connector.
    We used pogo plugs for the Dish Network IRDs back in the day, but those units were actually designed so the service men could connect to them in the field.
    Making a viable connector like that for the 360 is a bit more work and nothing to "latch" it down with.
    I think the community would benefit in a properly designed unit, maybe I'll start working on that once I finish this jtag unit for my friend.
    I've built the usb reader and installed it internally for him to use if the need every arises. I like the usb version much better.

    Why don't you homebrew your xbox360 with the xell/xellous?
    This is realy the best and fastest way to do it. It always works for me this way and i really did a lot.

    And how did you go about writing the Xell.bin file to your nand?

    there are many guides on how to use xell/xellous, just google it and pick one.
