    Hi,

I have several .mpg files saved on my computer and want to burn them to a DVD. Each video is about an hour long and I want to get as many on a watchable DVD as possible.

    - Using DVD Flick I created a project with 4 "titles", each about an hour long, and burned it to a DVD+R. The first three work fine, but the last one freezes. I figured that 3 was the limit. For the next DVD, I only added three titles. The first two work fine but then the last one freezes. It's frustrating because I have to wait for the program to encode all the files (takes like 2 hours) but it isn't until just before it finishes that it says there isn't enough room on the DVD.

    - I have been trying to use DVD Shrink to, well, shrink the size of the files so that I can get more video on the DVDs. I converted the MPEGs to .vob and then .avi files using Free Video Converter V2.6.0, but I can't seem to open the .vob or .avi files in DVD Shrink.

    - Tried to use IFOedit to convert the .vob files to .IFO files, but it wouldn't let me for some reason. (! could not find any VOB unit in VOB file(s))

    - Opened the videos with Windows Movie Maker, saved the "finished" video to my computer, and then tried to save the file in a smaller format (50MB), but was unsuccessful.

    - All the guides I look at seem to give me instructions on how to get files off of a DVD and burn them.

I have the files on my pc and just want to get as many on a DVD as possible. Doesn't have to be real high quality. Please help. I've spent a long time trying different programs and reading forums and have not been able to figure this out.

In DVD Flick > Project Settings > Video > Advanced, select 'Half Horizontal Resolution'.

Use a known to be consistently good disk for burning the output.
Verbatim disks that mention 'Advanced AZO' on the package are good (do not buy the 'Value Series').

DVD Shrink will only load files that conform to the DVD Standard.
The files have to be in a folder (or image or disk) containing VOB, BUP and IFO files - that is video files that have been converted and 'Authored' by the likes of DVD Flick or FAVC etc.
