Well I bought a dual layer DVD burner today hoping to make direct backup copies of my movies only to find out that the software has CSS encoding protection. My question is what is the best and easiest way to make an absolutely perfect uncompressed copy of my DVDs. I really want just a perfect copy. I hate compressing and messing with files. Will the 1ClickDVD Copy software let me make a perfect 1:1 copy or will I have to spend 100 dollars on Clone DVD by DVD X Studios. It seems like Clone DVD is the only software that lets you make direct copies without any compression. It costs so damn much though. Is there a cheap program out there that simply removes the css encoding and just lets me copy the disc 1:1? Maybe I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy Clone DVD. Any help would be appreciated though. Thank you.
you can use DVDDecrypter (free program) to rip the movie to your hard drive and then use CopytoDVD.....cost is 39.99!!!! I use this program all the time and it's top notch!!!! VSO software are the greatest! http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm you can download the trial version and test it out! it will burn your DVD9 easily from your hard drive and DVDDecrypter won't do anything funny to the files that it rips! just my 2 cents..... as Jim would say! LOL
@TOMIMOTO, I agree with my friend Ihoe, wealth of wisdom and knowledge, I just wanted to add to the decrypter thought that if you are simply making a 1:1 copy, then I would use Decrypter and switch to ISO mode, rathe rthan file. Read the disk to HD in the ISO Read, then place the DL blank media in the tray, if your burner allows book type then book type the media to -R or Dvd Rom (will work in more of a variety of stand alones.) then burn with Decrypter in ISO...done. I use this for backing up my copy of Kingdom of Heaven and I also made a copy on single layer using Dvd Rebuilder Pro/CCE Basic. Decrypter is free, and now the same author has ImgBurn (It can burn Iso images....I feel like the decrypter does a great job of handling layer changes for DL...Happy burning and congrats on your new dl burner. TOMIMOTO You may want to try dvd shrink alone or with anydvd download for trial version in this ad. Dvd shrink alone can handle the CSS Protection.
Tomimoto....... Shrink will do some changes to the files.... even with out compression! If you want exact copy then you use DVDDecrypter.... it doesn't change the files at all, just takes out the encryptions so it can be copied to hard drive. Dennya ...... MovieDud just answered your question..... I only said what I do! I like CopytoDVD is all....
IHoe, Ah, was just curious as to why you'd use two programs when one could do both jobs. (Which MovieDud didn't answer.. ;-)
Hi IHoe, Nice to know I have VSO friends in here Hello dennya, As mentioned above, you are right. DVDDecrypter can burn your .ISO As IHoe mentioned, I also use VSO CopyToDVD to burn everything, not just video. I use it to my images of course, Data, Music. It's a personal choice to use VSO CopyToDVD instead of Nero, NTI, Roxio etc..
Thanks for the help guys. I downloaded DVDDecrcryptor. I'll try it out when I get some time. Maybe this weekend. About how long does it take a rip and burn a DL DVD?
that's a loaded question cause the time to rip and burn will be determined by a # of factors with your computer system and with the programs that you use! try asking your question in a new thread and you'll get many responses!
