Of course you can. It's a computer.

That's like asking if you can play DVDs on a Slimline PS2.

Sorry, I'm kind of in a bad mood right now.

I've got a set of SwapMagic discs and the MagicKeys II for the slimline PS2. I had trouble with part 3 of the MagicKeys (the part that goes in near the hinge for the cover) so I opened the PS2 and taped that switch down.

I got the SNES Station emulator and some games that I am able to play on it. I would like to play a backup DVD of Need for Speed most wanted. I used DVD Decrypter to read and create an ISO file, and used Nero to burn it. When I put the disc in, the "Need for Speed Most Wanted" game logo appears, but the EA sports logo doesn't ever show up and nothing happens. It just stops there.

I read somewhere that certain games require a patch to the ISO file (?) and one of the patches was for EA sports games. I tried patching the ISO using adr_patcher, this copy did not boot at all.

I've been searching forever and still no luck.

Can anyone give me a tip on what I can do to make a working backup of Need for Speed Most Wanted?

NFS Most Wanted should work just fine. No patching or rebuilding required.
What media brand are you using?

HOld it, how do you get emulators on the PS2?

Hey, you know what would be cool, if you could play StepMania from your hard drive on the PS2 through the magic disc or however you'd do it. Would that not be so freakin' cool?

ok i have a question and i've read all the posts up to this one.....

how do you burn torrent files for ps2 games to a cd in a way that it will be burnable and work.

i'm probably not going to get a swap disk unless it's absolutly necessary but i have dvd decrypter and a slim ps2.

you cannot burn a cd with dvd decrypter if you dont want a swap disk then buy a chip, the swap disc is cheaper, and only burn the origanal

    I'm using Memorex 8x DVD+R to burn.

I haven't tried any other games but I don't see why they wouldn't work, I've made backup copies of some DVD movies using AnyDVD/CloneDVD and haven't had a single problem with those on the PS2.

I'm going to try to make a backup of one of my other games now.

I will post an update shortly.

you need the ISO file, open dvd decrypter, go to the mode menu go down to ISO, select WRITE, open the folder where you have the ISO file select it and then hit the burn button, put the speed at 4x,

    It worked!

Putting the speed to 4x and burning with DVD Decrypter instead of Nero seems to have solved the problem.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

    @ Acid:
    STOP SAYING YOU DOWNLOADED IT!!!

Ok, if you have the .ISO file then put it in DVD Decrypter. Look, just put the blank DVD in your computer. Then open DVD Decrypter, then it'll ask what .ISO file you want to burn unless it already says a file. If not, click on that little folder icon and locate the .ISO file. If the .ISO file came in like tons of different .rar or.zip files, then extract the .ISO from only one of them then burn it. It should work. You can also use Nero too but it goofs up sometimes. If the game is for a CD, then you should probably use Nero although I think Magic ISO will work as well.

If something's screwy with the .ISO file, try exacting it with something like MagicISO and repacking it back into a new ISO and see if it works. It might have been packaged wrong. But I don't know for sure. So try those thigns I just said on the ISO of the ORIGANAL COPY of the game.

    @ Mostwantd

Cool. YOu got it to work.
It's odd though because it seems to run quite well burning at 8x for me. I have Sony DVD-R that are 16x. Odd. And yes, I was using DVD Decrypter.

all my blank media runs at 16x but i get best results using 4x regardless of media but what ever works for you is what you should stick with

Ok so here is the deal: I successfully made a copy of the ps2 game disc using DVD decrypter. All the process went successfuly and everything worked perfectly.

Now the main problem is that whenever I put that disc into my ps2 system.......it doesn't work!!!! As soon as the disc is placed in........the ps2 system comes up with that annoying message where it points out that it does not support the format of the disc I have inserted.

Is there anything I need to do differently to make it all work????? As I mentioned earlier, the copying and decrypting part worked perfectly....it is just that my ps2 does not play the disc.

Is there something that I'm missign out???? Please help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
