    @ Bobabe:

ok, then the problem might not be your DVDs, it might be the PS2. Is it modded correctly? Make sure that when you burn the game, try to have the verification on, because if you don't, then the virification could've failed and you wouldn't have known it because you didn't have it on. In DVD Decrypter, there should be a check box availible while burning that says something along the lines of, "Verify afer burn", but the actual words may vary. ANyhow, click on that. If the verification process fails, then the game won't work. As to why it failed, no one can really say for sure, althogh it says it has something to do with an error in reading the file. That doesn't nessicarally mean that the file is bad though, In most cases, it should work.

However, if the verification should pass, then it's likly that your PS2 isn't modded quite right and that's why it won't read the disc. What type of PS2 do you have? Is it the slimline or the origanal modle PS2? How is it modded? Are you using a slide tool and Swap Magic?

If it's a slimline, are you using the SlimTool or another method?

Basically, I"m asking what kind of PS2 is it and how is it modded?

    @ Rolls

If you wanna do that, you are probably talking about installing one. Well that's nearly imposable on a slimline PS2 because it doesn't have the ports for it. Althoubh, you can use a USB hard drive, but it's not as fast running from a USB cable and as we all know, PS2 doesn't have any FireWire or that other port. (I can't quite remember what it was called.)

And yes, you can just rip the ISO to the hard drive, but since it's in the PS2, you have to put the disc (preferribly the origanal disc) into the PS2 and you'll have to rip it from there. There are tools such as HDD Advanced to help you do that. You can also use Swap Magic to help you as well.

You can play MP3s and I think movies from the hard drive, but in order to play them from the PS2, you need a media player. All I know about those is that they are a special file type called .elf files. There was a post on the thread some posts up talking about it.

people you NEED a SWAP DISC or a MOD CHIP, you do not need to verify with dvd decrypter, your ps2 will NEVER boot a backup on its own, it does not burn the boot code, that is why u need a swap disc or mod chip, i have backed up every game i own and never once needed to verify the copy, people think that they can do this for free and that is not true

Ok, first off, I didn't say you NEEDED to, but sometimes the verification may fail and even if you don't verify it, that doesn't mean it wouldn't have failed and if it fails, it won't work. I know because it happened to me. So you don't HAVE to, but you still should because it's making sure all the data was put on the disc right.

About the hard drive... It has to be formatted to a FAT32. I'm not sure of how to fit it in and I forgot which page the ELF files were mentioned in.

Hey, does anyone know where to get elf files like media playes and stuff. I think one is called PS2 Media Player. Oh, and PROBLEMS is right, you do need a Swap Magic Disc.

Go for -R, so you don't need to worry about booktyping, or whether or not your PS2 will have a problem reading it.

Oh god! Do you believe everything someone tells you!
    Its most likely freezing due to one of the following reasons;
    1. You've burnt onto crap media
    2. You use Swap Magic to boot your games, and you haven't rebuilt the image to make it small enough for Swap Magic to play it properly.
    3. Both of the above.

if you have the time to burn video games then you have the time for 108 pages of text. for the reading impared this is what you need

    DVDdecrypter
    (only works for dvd games)

    dvd media
    iso file
    swap disc or mod chip
    time

and i dont think you read a single page cause if you had you would have seen the answere to your questions within the last ten pages

i cant stand lazy people that just want a free ride
