I have backed up so many playstation 2 games using Game-cloner, This is very easy to do man. I just pressed like 4 buttons and it came out :) I used it with my swap magic 3.3 with slide card and it worked w/o a fuss hehe

Hi All: As far as I know, all the backing up of games is assuming that the original disc has the capacity that is less than 4.7Gb. However, all the new games, for example, God of War, has a image file of 8.6Gb. I tried to burn it onto a dual layer disc with 2x speed but the disc does not work. Is there anyone know how can you back up something that is a DVD9 format? Thank you so much. By the way, I do have a mod chip and all my previous backups work out fine.

Gamelord, I'm glad I found your post. I had my modchip professionaly installed paying the price:(. I paid to have a dms4lite installed. I can't seem to back up any of my games. All I get is the "can not read disc". I thought maybe it was the macrovision in the software or something, so I've tried AnyDVD, Region Free+CSS, AlcoholSoft, DVD Decryptor, etc. It sounds like you have the same exact problems that I do, and I would really appreciate the help. e-mail me at implementinglife@hotmail.com Thanks.

THIS IS WHAT YOU GUYS DIDNT GET AT THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE FKIN THREAD

    I just recently bought a slim ps2

I downloaded a magic swap .iso from bearshare, unzipped it, and burned the files on a regular blank cd...

Now, i dont have any burned games on me but i was still wondering if it worked, so I put it in the ps2 and it seemed to load and a red screen appeared saying insert playstation or playstation2 disc

Thing is, I didnt have a burned game to put in it to see if it worked like i said

So, I was just wondering if it's possible to use swap magic with just the discs on a slim ps2, OR if i HAVE to have the slidetool or fliptop for the games to work?

Im guessing its just like my dreamcast.... i have a boot disk for it and when i put it in, a reindeer comes up and says "insert game now" and im set

so how does it go with swap magic?

you cant burn the swap magic disc because its not factory pressed, you have to actually buy it, its a good investment though, i bought a flip top and swap magic 3.6 from revolution-sales.com, it cost about $40, but then again its better than going out and replacing your game that is all scratched up right?
    Hope this helps

Hey everyone. I hope someone can help me out with this question? I recently had the Crystal Chip professionally installed on my V.4 PS2. So far I have tried to copy 3 games, GTA:SA, Devil May Cry 3 and the new Resident Evil game using DVD Decrypter with no luck. Either I am doing it all wrong or my laser is shot? Does anyone share this problem? I have heard there is hacked firmware for the Crystal Chip but I don't know. I am using Memorex 8x DVD-R media with a brand new Samsung Drive. Thanks.

How long should it take to complete the writing portion of burning a game in dvd decryptor? I am only asking because i just finished my first game and writing it only took about 20 minutes, which I think is very short. I don't have my chip installed yet so I can't test it out. If anyone could give me an approximate time it takes them on a 1.5 gig game it would be helpful. Thanks

Hi all - I followed all the directions from the previous posts... I am using dvd decrypter & trying to make a backup copy of GT4

I get the following message when I try to ISO - Burn

    DeviceIOcontrol(FsCTL_LOCK_VOLUME) Failed!
    DEvice [1:1:0] DVDRW IDE1008 0055 (D:) (ATA)
Unable to lock volume for exclusive access.
    Reason: Access is denied

I noticed someone else had this issue a while ago, but I didn't see a clear reply.
Can anyone help with this issue?
    Much appreciated...

    Hey boys,

Just wondering... i have a swap magic and slide card set have been using it for a couple of months now and have quite a large collection. One question though; with all network capable and internet playable games, I have read about DNAS patching and =stuff. Is this only if i wish to play it online or if i just want a copy of the game to play in career and single player modes do i need to patch the game??

If anyone could shed some light on this it would be awesome.
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers.

I have had the same problems! I recently got a ps2 mod chip inserted and when i use dvd decrypter to make the disc i get a message from the ps2 saying that it hasn't been recognised! A mate of mine thinks that the reason is because dvd decrypter thinks that i have inserted a movie and that has nothing to do with my mod chip!

I hope this isn't too out of topic, but what is the diference between homebrew/import/backup games?
