You're supposed to legally own the game.

Yea. you actually believe that the users of this forum are copying legally owned games, i know 99.9% of users download or rent games then they copy them. They ask questions how to break copy-righted games, so I don't understand you banning someone, I think everyone has a freedom of speech to say what they want, if you try banning everyone because i know noone copys legally owned games unless they sell the copies

You know everything that everybody does here at aD...I think not! As we have close to 100,000 members here. Also by what are you saying means you download/copy games illegally or am I wrong...Let's see if you have the guts to say the truth or if you will just contradict/make a hypocrite of yourself.

P.S. Freedom of speech is allowed as it never was suppressed, but the discussion and condoning of Piracy isn't. Period. I think you need to look over the rules since it seems you have not.

You know, first of all you accused me of downloading illegally, read my first question, i will write it again..After i download a game how do i burn it to cd, I have Nero , So where did i write anything about downloading illegally, i wanted to burn a demo of a game to cd, but you assume someone who downloads a game does it illegally, plus a pay 20 dolars a month to download games, so that's why I was criticized, I only needed help

You should of made your question a little more specific though. But are you talking about demos of ps2 games or pc games. Because when I think of game demos online I think of pc demos.

I'll tell you why, becuase there are tons and tons of files out there that are not copywritten and perfectly legal to download. hundreds and hundreds of bands that aren't signed to a label have no other way to get their music out, or even young software companies passing out free small programs just to get their name out there. Or the thousands and thousands of freeware tools that are passed around.
Even if you were downloading a demo, it does not matter. from the way it read, you were downloading a game, it said nothing about a demo. Some people have no choice but to download a game to make a backup copy (like downloading a cdrip because you dont have a dvd burner, but it has been a long standing rule here not to allow the discussion of downloading games at all, PERIOD. Simply for the fact that it raises suspicion regardless of whether it's for a legitamate reason or not. it's just to close to a "grey area" that could cause the site alot of trouble if the wrong people read it and took it the way it sounded. It might not be fair, there might be people who think the rule is stupid, but it is in place for the good of this site. with over 100,000 members, it seems much more important to keep this site available for everyone by keeping it clean that it does to let someone discuss something that could shut afterdawn down. Sorry, thats just the way it is.

[bold] i agree that there are tons and tons of non-copywritten stuff that u can legally download. but keep in mind that there are also millions and millions of copy righted stuff out there that is illegal to download and i'm sure that 99% of the people on that "file sharin applications" forum in this site are downloadin stuff illegally.

We can't control what people do on their computers nor would we want to, but we can control what content is deemed illegal here at aD.

Exactly!! Just like the gun shop isn't responsible if some idiot buys a gun from them and shoots someone. what you are "sure of" is not relevant, the rules of the forum will still be followed. And we will do what is needed to enforce them.

Of course most people download illegally, but it's not to be disscussed in AfterDawn forums. Thats what I learned here. I'm sure everyone downloaded something illegally before, but according to AfterDawn's rules, it should not be metioned in these forums. So just keep it to yourself, or find another forum on the web. It's just Afterdawn's way of doing things. Just accept them.

I remember saying this in another thread. O well, I forget.

Chuj666, as far as I know there are no playstation demo games that you can download and burn. It would be silly for the manufacturer to even consider it since very few would be able to appreciate it. There are downloadable PC games or demos but they are intended to be installed onto your hard disk not burned. I have no doubt that there are members here who download copyrighted materials and it is wrong. When makers of games and other intellectual properties are unable to make money for their efforts then they stop making the games and movies that all of us enjoy. If you have a problem with the high prices of games and movies then do what I and many others do, wait until their price comes down and then make the purchase.
