I have two backups on my PC. One is an image and the other are just the actual DVD files.
When I back them up and play them in my DVD player, it says that it's "area restricted".
Is there a way to change these DVD's to region 1 so they'll play on my DVD player?

Yes I do. Does DVDShrink automatically remove the region? I didn't see any option to make it region free.

The region free setting is in the 'dvd region' tab once you click backup. Region Free is usually checked by default.
If these discs are in PAL format though and your in region 1 you'll either need a player that plays PAL or convert them to NTSC.

Thanks. I've never used Shrink so I didn't know that tab existed.
Unfortunately that solution brought up another proplem. Does anyone know what "Error:\nCannot connect TRF" means?

After shrink encodes, this is the message I get when it starts the burn process.

The version of Nero you have 'broke' the autoburn w/ shrink. So you can uninstall 6.6.1.4 and go back to 6.6.0.18. If you decide to go back to previous version you should also run Nero Clean tool after uninstalling.
If you have DVD Decrypter you can check that option in shrink to autoburn. Or you can open Nero and burn the file from there.
Here's the previous version & the clean tool:

Oh and edit out your serial # - begins w/ 1A

@dalime, when you posted your log, you posted your serial number. You need to edit your log to not include your s/n. It starts with 1A23-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. Just edit it off.

I'm looking in edit->preferences->file I/O and there is no option for DVD Decrypter. Only a box that say "enable burning with Nero".
Am I looking in the wrong place.

    Also,
After the burn failed, I burned the files from the temp folder using Nero and I still get the same message on my DVD player. I have encoded the files using Region Free and Region 1 with the same results. Weird thing is that the disc plays fine on my XBOX 360.
    Any suggestions?

The dvd decrypter option is when your click back up - should have gave you the details (oops). Under target device tab 'select backup target' pick 'iso image file and burn w/ decrypter'. You can also change your burn speed in the burn settings tab here. That may be part of the problem. It may be set to max - if so change the burn to the rated speed of the media your using (unless it 16x then use 8x).
I quess we should go back to the original problem - the 2 backups on your pc were they from another region? If so which one?

Oh and if you don't have decrypter here's a link to download - it's also a ripper and will also remove the region codes.
