I already ripped DVDs to hard drive. I would now like to be able to save certain scenes and merge them with others to make one continuous movie of these various scenes and eventually recode for a Sony PSP.
I tried this;I ripped the movie into one large file with DVDShrink, then edited with Windows movie maker using the selected clips. I then converted the wmv from Windows movie maker to avi with WinAVI, and then converted to PSP with PSP Video9.
Is there an easier way or better tools. I like the encoding quality and speed of PSP Movie Creator but there's no editing functions.

Well I would Totally Avoid useing "Windows Movie Maker" because it makes you save your Files in the Crappy WMV Format and then encodeing from WMV to AVI and then From AVI to PSP is Just a Big Waste of Time and Totally Ruins the Quality of the Image as every time you encode a File you Loose Quality....

What I would Do is use a Native Mpeg editor Like "Womble Mpeg2VCR" or "Womble Mpeg Video Wizard 2005" to edit the VOB files ripped from the DVD...It will let you edit the VOB files in any way you want and when it you are Done it will save the Edited Files as a Mpeg-2 file without any Quality Loss and then you should be able to Load the Mpeg-2 file into PSP Movie Creator and encode it to PSP Format....

This way should be Faster and Produce Better quality....

    Cheers
