    Hello,

I travel a lot and I refuse to bring my Blu-Ray discs with me. Due to the fact that they are expensive and I don't want to have to end up buying them again. So is there any type of software that I can you use to convert them to an avi file? Or a file I can use to play on my PS3?

    Thanks

Well, you could try Tunebite Converter, it supports many audio and video files and you can convert your blu-ray to avi or other video formats you need with it. The best part which I like a lot is that it converts all the files quickly and with good quality.

I would suggest using either DvdFab Decrypter or AnyDVD to rip your movies to your HDD, and then you can use autogk to convert to avi format. A how to use autogk guide is linked in my signature.

You can also use handbrake to convert your dvd files to avi files.

After ripping to hard drive, you can also convert to an mp4(h.264), better quality in a smaller size. Handbrake should do the job(among other good free software).

WinAVI is excellent. It's great for converting pretty much any video file to AVI format.
