    I have a simple non-protected DVD.

I simply want to take/convert the audio from the DVD and convert it to MP3 so I can listen to it in the car while I am driving.

Is there a simple and easy way to do this?

    Thank you!

download and install dvdx ( I use to use it when I would rip dvds and create vcds out of them( back when dvd burners and dvdr's where expensive). It allows you to rip the movie as mpeg2, mpeg, avi, and wave. Just select the part of the movie that you want the music from and then create the wave file. I did this to get the music from willy wanka and the chocolate factory ( the one with johnny depp )
