Hi, I was wondering if anyone would happen to know how I can convert video files to MP4 format video file.

To be specific on what type of files I want to convert, Quicktime Movie files, AVI, WMV.

I usally use Canopus to convert my video files, but I noticed when I tried this time, that it does not convert to MP4.

Can anyone help me with this please?

    Ryan,
You can try using nero 6 (full version and not the OEM version).

Actually, scrath that nevermind it is horrible, it's not working anymore after the first vid I made. Then the video I made the sound is off. shitty.

Anybody know of any really great converters? pleaseeee help me out.

I downloaded that torrent and I can't figure out how to install it from the zip file. When I click the app it says this

"This file may be open in another location or a read only copy of the file already exists. If the file is in use ,close the open file and try again."

But nothing is open please someone help me with this.

is this for hardware player playback ?

when you said mp4, you meant mp4 container.
waht video codec you want to use. mpeg4 asp (xvid, divx) or
    mpeg4 avc (h264).

for avc like posted earlier use nero recode.

    or free one, x264.
get teh vfw version and use virtualdub to encode. then get mp4box to mux it into mp4 container. look for its gui.

    too lazy to post links

other wise you can just use xvid and mux into mp4

Omg, Shiroh.. Your message was totally confusing.. Can you please try to put what you said into a better understanding and please don't be lazy... That's really annoying. I also need to know how to convert video files into mp4. Simple as that. It's for my iPod I got for my birthday last month. Videos have to be in mp4 format and I can't buy a converter so I need a free one. I downloaded a sample converter but it only says it does the first 3 minutes of the video. Not the whole thing. So can somebody help me too?

Well the iPod as I understand it supports SP (Simple Profile) MPEG-4 and BP (Base Profile) AVC. Check out MeGUI which is a front end for various tools like x264.
