I have an account with ALLOFMP3.COM and they give full song previews in .m3u format. This format works on my PC with Winamp as well as with Musicmatch Jukebox 10. My question is can I convert them and burn to a cd or use in my Proshow Gold Software? Thanks for your help, JR
The M3U file on allofmp3.com cannot be converted to an MP3 or any type of audio file. What your listening to on the playlist (m3u) is music stored on their servers and it is completely out of reach to other internet users. A M3U file is basically a shortcut to where the music is stored. Not the actual music itself.
The M3U format is strickly a playlist ! In other words, you are directed to an address where the file is streamed down at you for your listening ! Right Click the M3U file and select OPEN WITH --> Choose Program ---> Notepad , you will see each URL that your PC must go to in order to get the stream for you to hear ! Usually, those M3U are for the first 30 seconds of the song -- !!You must then make up your mind and buy the full one -- that is when , they will give to you in the format you want ( Mp3,Wma,Ogg,Vorbis...)the full song cause you have bought it.
