Hi all, I bought a Sony DVD-R with Nero included, and I put it on my computer. Now, I have no idea how to convert my movies (from my computer) to a DVD. I want to be able to watch the movies on the DVD player. They are all in MPEG format, I burn them using NERO, but my DVD player does not recognize the format. What should I do? Can somebody help me? I've been reading about it and I understand that I have to convert MPEG to some other format (DVD). How do I do it, and what format is that?, Can I do it with NERO?
    Thanks for your help,
    Alejandra

    Hello Apaezv,

Welcome to AD.. OK you can use Nero Vision Express to do what your asking or you could also get the program by VSO called DivXtoDVD as Ppower has suggested and provided you a link to.

With NVE however you can create your own workable menus. While DivXtoDVD is much easier and will get the job done quicker if you don't care about having a menu.

I have a guide at my site for both ways of doing it if you want to check them out the link is in my signature.

    Cheers and good luck :)

Very helpful bbmayo, thanks a lot. I have only one more question, in your web site you have "Burning your DVD movie with Nero 6" and "Basic Guide on using Nero Vision Express", which one do you use to convert the MPEG files to DVD? (I want to try using Nero)

I burned one DVD using the other 3 programs(DivXtoDVD, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink)and IT WORKED :)!! But, since I'm creating DVDs for my children with their favorite cartoons, I have no idea how many cartoons I can put in one DVD. I know that Nero shows capacity, it also gives the menu options (Appearance), anyway, I just want to try with Nero without throwing out any more blank DVDs.

You need to use the "Basic guide an using Nero Vision Express" This is the one that will convert your MPEG's to DVD compliant files. :)

You could also just convert each cartoon individually with DivXtoDVD and then just add them in Shrink until your compression in Shrink isn't to bad like maybe around 80% or so.. Either way will work though.

    Good luck :)
