Hi Guys. I just purchased a Western digital WD TV HD Media player & it wont Convert my ISO movies & want to know what is the best & fastest Nero program to use to convert my movies to one of these formats ? I tried MPEG 4 & it is too slow . Supported Video Formats I have Nero Ultra 6 The following video file formats are supported. • MPEG 1 • MPEG 2 • MPEG 4 (ASP, AVC HD/H.264) • WMV9 • AVI • Xvid • DVR-MS • MKV • DAT (VCD/SVCD) Thanks in advance . Ozi
I did say in orig thread ISO movies , apart from that were converted by Clone Dvd . Is that the info you are looking for ? Thanks for the reply . Ozi
You did not state that they were converted files. All you said was that they will not play. So inside the ISO are VOB, IFO and BUP files? What were they before the conversion? Can't you play them?
Sorry man , I know you are trying to help . My ISO backup movies are fine & I can not see what your questions have to do with my orig thread . I want to know if my Nero software can convert these to any of the above formats ? I will edit the word play in my orig thread . Cheers Ozi
Do you know what an ISO file is? There are files inside that need to be extracted. You may not have to convert these files. Click on the word ISO for the definition of an ISO.
“.iso” is a image file for the disc and it could contain any type of files. Your ISO file is most likely popular DVD-5 or DVD-9 and contains video (movie) files as you mentioned. However those video files could be any type of video format, which include your media player can play. The type of video files, which before you converted to ISO with Clone DVD, is what dialysis1 is asking. (* And the question was still not answered.) If you expression “Movie” means DVD-Video, files are VOB, BUP and IFO files in VIDEO_TS folder. (As my understanding, VOB is MPEG file.) Your player may play with full functions of menu. Your manual should have some kind of information how to play DVD-Video (without copy protection such as home made movie.) (* Edit)Sorry, my bad. I guess the files before converting to ISO with CloneDVD must be DVD-Video... (I did not know about Clone DVD.)
I bought WDTV after I already own the IOMEGA Screenplay with built in harddrive. The prices are about the same when they are on sale. The WDTV is a beautiful device and the user interface is fluid and attractive. It's also cheap and can read ISO files (2) I don't know what kind of "ISO" files you have, but mine plays just fine. I haven't had any freeze up during forwarding yet (at 16x). As many reviewers have already stated, this little box seems to do it all. I've tested it with ISO file of both HD and SD as well as VOB and other video formats.
Thanks MysticE ] I downloaded a codex pack & now it seems to be working now, but tell me why does it take so long to convert to portable H/Drive ? Is there an A/dawn section on Media Players like the WDTV ? And do I even need the slow Arc Soft Media converter ? I was confused [& still am ] with the above s/ware .. [/img] Thanks Ozi
