How to convert VHS to DVD-R

    I have a sony pc (http://www.sonystyle.ca/webapp/commerce/servlet/CategoryDisplay?merchant_rn=1&cgrfnbr=2171&parent=VAIO_DESKTOPS&catLandNum=2009 )with toshiba dvd-rw drive , and sony software. also have an ATI TV Wonder card to capture the VHS and recorded into a mp2 (mpeg2) file tried to copy into dvd using sony's softwares and NERO 5.5 (nerovision express Nero express etc with all the plug ins) but no luck

    either it hangs or says not compatle file format

    pls some one tell me what to do

    Rename the extension from .mp2 to .mpg and it should work.
