Recently I have found the .rmvb video clips have much better quality and smaller file size compared to other video formats (such as divx). Also, I once converted .rmvb video (164 MB) to make SVCD, the file became huge (more than 1GB), and I could not burn it in one Video-CD. I have lots of movies that I would like to convert them into better format for storage. I think .rmvb is the best so far. However, I do not know how to convert DVD directly to .rmvb. Even from avi to rmvb would be useful. There are several commercially available softwares that can do this. However, I would like to know if there is anyway that I can make it without using those commercial softwares. Can anyone help? Thanks.
