I feel like this should be really easy to do but I don't know how. I just bought a Coby 925 5.1 speaker system. I think I took the pawnshop, assuming it works. I got it for 60$ compared to the 90$ or more online. It has a red/white audio input for both the Left and Right speaker sides. My DVR which I just got has only one audio output. Do I need a splitter to have the audio work appropriately?

Another thing I am wondering is can I use the rear speakers along side the front speakers, or will this sound bad? I don't want to run wires across my apartment so I may just not use them.

I was wrong. It was two separate inputs for two auxiliary sources. It didn't come with enough speaker wire and so far the front left and right speakers slots work but I have had no luck trying with the center. I am about to test back slots and sub woofer.
