    Hello all,

im trying to jtag a falcon at the moment and having major problems.
it is cb5770 and i have dumped the nand 3 times with a read error on 202 on block 0198.

when i write xbr.bin to the console i get e79.

    things i have tried.

    1. replacing jtag diodes
    2. writing xbr.bin then kv.bin via lpt
    3. writing xbr.bin with the block remapped with bad block mover and kv injected

i have some strange behaviour with the rf board having to be in a particular position to power on console.

i just dont know what im doing wrong.
also if i flash original dash back console is ok
also get error 202 at 0198 when i write anything to the nand even on orig.bin
    any help appreciated

This may seem like a strange question but what do I do with the LPT cable after the DUMP of the NAND and have loaded all the required stuff? Do you just leave it connected to the points in the xbox and have the lpt cable sticking out? Should I remove the solder points and remove the cable?

    Hello all,

i have had a bit more progress since last message my box starts to show the splash screen then goes to e79.
could that be a dodgy diode or do you think a short?
i have used a 330 ohm resistor and the really small jtag point in pic above with .30 kynar wire.
any suggestions will be greatfully received as this falcon is stressing me out.

thanks in advance for any help

sounds like a bad solder job on db1f1.I try a alternate under the board look at the previous few posts I think I saw something there with alternate points if not just google it.....

    Hi joehacker,

thanks for replying i have now got it working its has just took me 25 flashes of xbr.
i just kept persevering with it.
i soldered on to the new point near ft2p3 as i broke the pads on the other 2.
boots good and i put a new rf board on it as the original was playing up.
once again thanks for the info posted on here.

i've used those jtag points on a falcon which eventually worked.quite small but ok to use.however due to the greif it gave me it doesnt turn on at the power button but if you push the rf board by the 9 dots of solder (bottom left) it springs to life.can start with red lights flashing and all sorts but runs like a good un.as the behaviour is wierd i kept this one for my own.

do you have the power lead on the console switched on?if so re checkyour soldering or try a different pc, you could also try changing the setting on your printer port in the bios.

    good luck

have you got another pc you can try this on?have you tried changing lpt printer port settings in the bios?if neither of the above work and your sure your soldering is good then you are out of luck.you will at least need another pc with a printer port to try.
the message is basically saying portio32 is not installed.
