I have a perfectly fine 80gb WD drive lying around and it just misses the network slots by a tiny bit , is there some modification I can so that it fits? I really don't want to spend 100 for another hardrive..
Take off the metal plate on the Network adaptor. Once that is off you need a torx 6 i think it is. You can get them at any hardware store real cheap. Unscrew the power plug with the torx 6 and it will fit. I have a WD also.
Now that your drive fits in there how do you get hdloader/hdadvance to recognize it? I had this problem all weekend where either program would tell me that the drive is not there, when it actually was.
Well I gave up on the WD a few days ago and tried that last night with a 160gb Maxtor. It still isn't recognized by the PS2, so I'll try it now with the WD and see where that gets me.
Did you guys remember to set the drive as master? you can do that by removing the pin from the back , it's small and white or follow the directions from the drive manufacterer. I think since you guys had it connected to your pc fro winihp it was set to slave. Btw I hate sony , it took me 6 hardware stores to find a size 6 corx scew driver ;( but everything done it work beutifully.
