I replaced my CD-ROM with a CD-RW. Everything well smoothly except one thing: I left a disc in the old CD-ROM. Is there any way to get it out without rehooking up the whole thing?
Some units have a hidden trigger needed to open/eject it manually. But t depends on the Unit, so no general hint is available...
all the units have one little hole on the front just push inside with something pointy like a paper clip and the tray come out
Thanks for the hint. I borrowed a long sewing needle from my wife and stuck it into the tiny hole. But the door refused to pop out or drop down. I suppose that after burning all the music I want to burn I can replace the new CD-RW with the old CD-ROM and use it to play music. Maybe I could install the old CD-ROM as an additional drive, maybe drive E or a slave drive. That sounds complicated and I'm reluctant to try.
Sometimes you have to push the pin/needle/paperclip REALLY hard. An easier way is to open up your pc case and use a spare power plug and just open the cd that way 2mins top.
