your local computer store should be able to burn you a disk for a nominal charge.then like you say you use your key and voila.

 

That's fine if you know which version of xp you have.. most OEM installs use different codes.. what is on your case probably isn't usable against a retail xp install disk.. try it and see

It's one thing to source a copy of XP and install against the code you have obtained from your legit installation either by using the little keyfinder app or the sticker on the pc case.. another altogether to use generic keygenned codes.. I could post pages and pages of generic codes, none of which would activate, though they would pass the installation and allow xp to run for a while at least.

Have you tried to activate it online yet? with M$??
