Well i got an iPhone the other day and i kinda figured that you would be able to just use songs that you put on your iPhone as ringtones, but i seen that i was wrong when it opened up in itunes. So i am just curious as to how i do change the ringtone to a song or to anythign other than the ringtones that they put on the phone. Thanks.
you need a program called "IphoneRingToneMaker" either purchase it from "IphoneRingToneMaker.com" or find it on the internet. it cost like $8(us). it works with the new itunes the new 3G iphone.
All you need is iTunes and a little time. I tried this method last night and it worked like a charm... http://youtube.com/watch?v=xWRjL_iwN20 And just in case it comes up, the video is for PC, but I skipped the "show hidden files and folders step" and did it with my macbook. Let's just hope Apple doesn't patch this anytime soon. For reference I have the iPhone 3G(2.0) and iTunes 7.7.
Thanks for the replies. I did some more searching after i posted the first thread and i found the iphoneringtonemaker, tried that out and ended up getting that. I also tried the thing with hidden folders and i couldnt get it to work. For $8 i thought it was easier with the ring tone maker. But thanks for all the help.
