how to get my classic phone tools- fax to work

    I am trying to get the fax to work but am having problems.
    I am on ntl broadband. It asks for a modem. im confused as i dont have a dial up.

    Faxes only work thur phone lines. You have to send them to a number. There are fax services online for a price. If you have a modem hook up a phone line and try again.

    i used to work for a phone company and im sure we used to charge extra if you had a fax because you need a seperate number - that was a while ago though so might be different.

    if fax is on your computer & not a fax machine than you do need a faxmodem but don't need a seperate phone #
