ok, type a [ then img then a ] then put your link to a picture here then type a [ then a / then img then a ] read the tags under where it says: HTML tags are not supported and will be stripped out, so they will appear as you have written them in this box. So called UBB codes have been implemented only partially. Supported tags (and their syntaxes as we support them) are here:
try www.ps2slimtool.co.uk.tc for the slimtool for the new slim ps2, you can use it safely and you can close the lid whilst using it (unlike the magic switch). Easier to install, longer lasting and no laser burmout. www.ps2slimtool.co.uk.tc
i did the tape mode 1month and a half and ps2 works better then ever not 1 little hickup or anything my ps2 slimline beautifull i love it...waz a great buy and the swap magic 3.3 are awesome i love them there work great with the slimline my version on ps2 is 70012 CB which apprently are the good ps2's without that stupid laser burnout problem o and i used either ritek 03g or 05g they both work i usually use memorex or fujifilm they work great!!!!
700012 is the USA region PS2. The rumor goes that the models with date code 4D are the ones without laser problems.
well mine don't have it so far and hopefully i will never get it. It works better then ever i only dvd games on it and i be playin for hours and hours and works fine
Yeah to be honest, Ive researched these modchips for a crap load of time, and in my opinion the best solution for wanting to paly backups without screwing your warranty and everything worsk eprfectly is the slimtool described in previous posts. The fliptop is also awesome but it shafts your warranty pretty badly. The magic switch is pretty risky with the warranty also since it requires opening lid AND breaking off pieces ( talking about the 2 piece set ghost/magic switch). These ofcourse have to be with a SMD3.3 The tape method also makes sense but then again its pretty risky and there is a small chance itll void your warranty.
hmmm...... yeah, but if your warranty is gone you might as well get it chipped, however if you have problems after that, you better not take it to sony to get it fixed.
Oh and btw this site is alot better than ps2slimtoo.co.uk for buying http://mod-chip.com/index2.php?go=en/select_ps2.htm
Thank you Leon, these forums need more confirmation. My v12 fliptop is still on backorder, I'll post when I get it, and if it works, and then I'll update again a month later or if anything goes wrong.
yeh...i jst recently got my pstwo using the tape method...workin very good...no problems except that i used ritek 5 dvd disc type and it found it hard 2 read...i then used the lower quality princo disc n it worked like magic....any ideas y??? btw the tape method was pretty gud..took about 10-15mins...only problem was stickin in the duck tape wit my sweaty hands...but all gud....ill b glad to help if any1 needs it...
Little help if possible - just got the fliptop for the slimline, install seemed to go ok, but now the reset button won't work - I can't even turn the thing on even though it has power. Took it apart again, everything appears in place! Stuck - any help or hints from anyone who's had a similiar problem is appreciated.
I have the new PS2 slim and just got the swap disk, the CD one boots every time but the DVD one only booted a few times for me, does anyone know if this is a disk error or system.
