How to Install seagate 120 Gb 2.5

    Hi Guys,

    Its my forst ever thread, I am a complete tech retard/novice and any help would be sincerely appreciated.
    I recently bought a EV PVR X5000 and then bought a seagate 120Gb 2.5" HD from "IwantaB0x" and just wondered would anyone be kind enough to help me in installing the HD?

    I have slotted in the HD in the slot behind the front cover but it doesn't seemed to be read by EV.

    Do i need to install a new firmware / Format the HD?

    Appreciate the help!

    Have you flashed it? The HDD just slots in and doesnt need to be formatted.

    Hi sc0user,

    Yes I have the 1.1a version of firmware and the EV is running absolutely fine except reading the HD. I have slotted in the HD with Pins facing the back of thebox and all chip part facing the bottom (I presume thats the only way as any other didnt make any sense to me) but I could be wrong.
    I hve not unplugged the box(turn off start again) though.
