I recently swaped my only hdd from basic disc to dynamic disc by mistake. I then tried to reinstall a fresh copy of windows 7 back on my laptop, but every time i try it fails. It just keeps telling me to try the installation again. Now my laptop doesent even boot up. Is there a way of installing windows now that my hdd is dynamic?
I have solved the problem now by the way. I just had 1 crazy little idea which might sort this problem out and it worked. If anyone else has a similar problem then please leave a post and i shall be happy to explain how to get back up and running again.
After searching high and low all over the internet for a solution, i found nothing to suit the situation i was in. My crazy idea was to try using an old disk i had made years ago from windows xp. It was just a very simple boot up utility that then enabled me to reformat the dynamic disk back to the original basic disk. From there on i was able to put back on my hdd a fresh installation of windows 7. But, before this operation i was completely unable to install any o.s on the hdd. I believe without this old xp boot utility disk that i had, it would have been impossable to repair any other way. Although if anyone else does know a way then please share it on this forum so that other users who may be in the same situation can resolve this issue more easily. Because after hours on end trying to find a solution online i found nothing.
I was not in that position where i had another computer available. But that is good advice to someone who has another computer at hand.
