I have a router,, linksys, I have a home webserver. But the router keeps changing the 192.168 ip address.. but if i create a static ip on the server ( windows xp pro running Wamp ) then it wont connect to the internet. anyone know any suggestions on how I can give my server pc a single 192.168 ip so it dont change>

You should be able to set a static address on the server but you need to make sure you set the router as the gateway. The server also needs to be in the same subnet as the router so if the router is 192.168.1.1 the server needs to be 192.168.1.x (x being any number between 2 and 254). Then it should work just fine.
