What is the best way to label a DVD? Currently I've been using some generic brand perm marker, but I recently read the thread on these forums about proper DVD archival which said only use a certain kind of marker. Is a permanent marker ok or will that ruin something. Sorry for such a noob question, I just couldn't figure out how to phrase it correctly in the search function to get any results either.

Should not be a problem. At least I've not had any problems and have not seen anything here to suggest that the use of a "Sharpie" marker will have an adverse effect on DVDs.

yep. a Sharpie fine point will do the trick..

don't use any peel and stick labels.

they can put the DVD out of balance............
