I am going to open up a Xboxl Live account and I have a Xecuter Lite Chip with a switch to turn it on and off... Also I have EvolutionX Dashboard installed... I want to LOCK the HD so that I can go onto Xbox LIve... There is an Option to lock the HD in my dashboard, but I am not sure If I just select that or do I have to do more??? I just dont want to push lock and regret it after I press lock... Also if the drive is locked will I still be able to FTP into the XBOX and install my games on the HD??? and If not how would I go about unlocking the HD after I lock it?? TIA
Yes when you lock it you can do everything a unlicked HDD can do. Locking a HDD just means locking it to the motherboard that its connected to. Make sure to get the code before you lock it though.
Get a program called "config magic" and install it on your xbox. It will tell you what code it uses to lock your HD. You will only be able to lock your HD if it supports locking. Not all hard drives support this. Make sure you never try to log onto xbox live with your mod chip enabled because you will be banned.
They can still ban you with the modchip turned off if the hd serial key embedded in the eeprom doesn't match that of the stock HD. Then again, your starting a new account with a larger hd already installed so your probably safe. Personally, I would try free alternatives to Xbox live like Xbconnect and Xlink Kai.......later
yeah I already play on both Xlink and XBconnect, but I like to play sports games online also so thats why I need to get onto live...
As an answer to your previous question, you need the code just in case your xbox takes a sh**t, and you would like to use the drive in something else... like your PC. Once its been locked in an xbox via evox, or config magic, it is forever useless in a PC in case something goes wrong. Windows will not be able to access the drive. If your savvy enough to find evox, then I think you'll be able to find config magic. Check out http://www.xbox-scene.com/ and take a look at their MIRC tuts.
