I have found that audio cds have greater compatibility with standard CD players if they are burned on a manufactured "audio" CD-Rs. Even a VCD burned on manufactured audio CD plays better on my AIWA DVD player. I wonder if the "embeded identification marker" can be burned on disk (see discussion http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/46643).

I tend to agree that there is a potential for greater compatibility for playback on standalones if we burn using "Audio" CDs however given the extremely wide media tolerance range I would also think this to be a moot point.

Unless Ive misunderstoon entirely, I doubt it :)
